If recent fashion shows are anything to judge by, our range of gold vermeil jewellery is set to be a must-have for another season. Interestingly, the Guardian has spotted a trend among the haute couture collections for designs influenced by the costumes of cult TV show Game Of Thrones, including some in the field of jewellery. But do you think fashion can really takes its cue from something so fantastical?

The programme, if you’re not familiar with it, is part fantasy, part historical drama – with the Guardian describing it in its catwalk incarnation as "medieval gown followed woodland warrior dress". So while it might feature dragons and magic, the trend is borrowing more from historical dress from England. But while it’s from an earlier age than we’re used to looking for style inspiration, it’s come to us in a modern style.

The article quotes one buying director as saying: "I am a firm believer that the most influential TV series do impact the way people dress. Mad Men is a perfect example.”

When it comes to jewellery for next season, this means that ornate gold designs are going to be particularly popular again – showing off the craftsmanship of their design. If Game Of Thrones-inspired fashion really does take off next season, we’re sure we’ve got plenty to add to your outfit here at Toko Jewellery too.

Our gold vermeil designs are timeless and befitting of any ‘queen of dragons’ and we can imagine lots of characters from the show falling in love with our natural semi-precious stone jewellery.
