Toko’s Baltic Amber is fossilized tree resin that oozed its way out of a forest of conifers between 23 and 50 million years ago. It can contain moss, pine needles, lichen or even insects, and each piece is unique.
An ancient theory has it that the golden rays of the setting sun were captured by the sea, and then cast ashore in the form of amber. Chunks of amber can still be collected by the Baltic Sea and along the shores of East Anglia after it has washed across the North Sea.
While the sunset gold colour is the most usual, other colours were formed to include green, cherry red, milky-white and even black amber.
A wonderful chunk of green amber, deep with mossy tones, makes up this spectacular ring. Set in sterling silver, it's a beautiful and most unusual shape. Handmade by Baltic craftsmen, this is a unique piece - if you order it, you will get this actual piece as illustrated in the picture. Normally only available in our boutique shop in Richmond, we have made some of our beautiful unique amber styles available on-line so that you have the chance to buy them.
Stone size approx 2.75 cms x1.5 cms.
The ring is adjustable so will fit most sizes.
